  5. People already give in so many ways!!!! Thank You !!!!!!

  9. United Church People Are Generous!!!!!!! Thank You!!!!

  10. How many of these projects are wrong??? None

  11. All of these projects are our Christian response to the biblical call to clothe the naked and feed the hungry. Matthew 25: 34-36

  12. The United Church Response

  16. Thank You!!!!!!

  17. In Montreal and Ottawa Conference In 2008 we provide support to: 1 First Nations Ministry 7 Chaplaincies 11 Congregations 8 Community Outreach Projects.

  18. We did all this with the $575,000 provided for us in Mission Support Grants

  19. Grants to Montreal and Ottawa Conference in 2009 have been reduced to just over $466,000

  20. This Mission Support grant money is provided to Montreal and Ottawa Conference through your gifts to the Mission and Service Fund. Thank You!!!!!!

  21. Our challenge“When I needed a neighbour, Were you there?”Voiced United 600

  22. Since 1988 annual givings to the Mission and Service Fund have remained at $30,000,000

  23. Since 1988, prices and salaries have gone up substantially: What cost $100 in 1988 Now costs $ 162

  24. That means if you gave $100 in today’s money to the Mission and Service Fund

  25. It would be worth only $61.83 in 1988 dollars

  26. $30,000,000 of today’s dollars does not compare to the 30 Million dollars given in 1988. In fact it is only worth $18,500,000. Inflation has eaten away the rest.

  27. This means that it is harder and harder to support the important ministries in Montreal and Ottawa Conference, Canada and the world.

  28. We already know that you are a generous people

  29. We know that the present economic climate is uncertain.

  30. In these tough economic times, we are not asking people to break their bank.

  31. When organizations come to your door asking for donations

  32. Please be generous but please don’t forget “ Whenever we have an opportunity, let us do good to all people…” Galatians 6: 10

  33. The Mission and Service Fund

  34. The goal for the Mission and Service Fund in 2009 is $32,500,000

  35. The goal for 2010 for the Mission and Service Fund is $32,500,000

  36. We can only achieve these goals if we work together

  37. A possible idea“ Honour the Lord your God, from your wealth…”Proverbs 3:9

  38. A special project idea from our friends in Hamilton Conference.

  39. What can one small dime Possibly do? A dime buys enough gas to travel 1 kilometre, or it might buy two pieces of candy. Not much!!!!!

  40. If every member of Montreal and Ottawa Conference Gave an extra 10 cents To the Mission and Service Fund Every day for a year.

  41. That’s just ten pennies

  42. That would mean that each member would give an extra $36.50 a year to the Mission and Service Fund.

  43. That’s about the cost of one tank of gas per year.

  44. If all 40,000 plus members of Montreal and Ottawa Conference gave an extra dime a day to the Mission and Service Fund

  45. Then we, in Montreal and Ottawa Conference, would collect an extra $1,400,000 every year.
