Mission of IAB on TE • Serving Telecom Industry needs • Accreditation activities for TE Program • Common goal: make sure that UTD products (e.g, graduating students, research outcome) best serve Industry

IAB Discussion and Tasks (TE Specific) • For engineering practice student’s curriculum must culminate in a Major Design Experience • Demonstrating utilization of knowledge and skills acquired in earlier course work • Incorporating engineering standards and multiple realistic constraints • With evaluation mechanism in place (April 23 – students’ presentations, posters) Examples of design experience: Your feedback in evaluation form?:

Senior Design Projects • Update on current new structure • Two consecutive semesters (Fall+Spring) • Proposal submitted by group of students (early Fall) • Proposal reviewed by instructors • Feedback given to students • Students carry out project under instructor’s supervision • Senior Design Day: presentation to and evaluation provided by IAB members (end of semester)
