  3. IAB Feedback • Not enough telecom engineers to hire • One company alone evaluates tens of students/year • Course content not adequate • UG students not aware of technology • Old image of the program • TE name alone not appealing • Lack of cohesive research focus

Graduate Program Review Feedback(Preliminary) • UTD looks like A&M in 70-ties • Warning: pace of growth must be realistic • Senior Lecturers: strong component • Lack of Strategic Plan for TE • Lack of communications • Between faculty and administration • Across labs • Faculty diversity • Develop top programs • TE is a valuable program

Four Action Items • Present an accurate and appealing image of the TE program • Revise course content and consider seminar series with industry speakers (mandatory for internship programs) • Improve communications and strengthen collaboration across Labs • Improve communications between faculty and administration http://www.te.utdallas.edu/constituents-activities.html Volunteers welcome – let me know if you would like to help
