  1. Mrs. Nauman’s Class October Birthdays: Oct. 25th – Kei’Ontae Oct. 29th - Anthony As we say goodbye to Ms. S, we will be welcoming a new friend into our classroom. The students will meet Ms. P and her pointy patches this week! This is going to be very exciting and fun week at Rostraver Elementary! This week is Red Ribbon Week! Each day the students are encouraged to participate in the activities at the school to show that they are “Paws-itively Drug Free”. The schedule has been sent home, but I have a reminder on the back for each day. Also, this Friday, we will be celebrating Halloween! Our student of the week this week is Anthony! We cannot wait to learn more about him! Oct. 31st – Reading Test (Identifying /p/ sound. High Frequency Words: we, my, like Comprehension Skill: Main Idea) Oct. 31st– Halloween Parade (approx. 1:30) and Halloween Party (2:00-3:00) Nov. 4th– Tentative Math Topic 5 Test Monday: Meatball Sub Tuesday: Macaroni & Cheese Wednesday: Cheeseburger Thursday: Breakfast for Lunch Friday: Pizza Bethany Nauman Bethany.Nauman@bellevernonarea.net 724-808-2500 Ext. 5106

  2. Reading: We will be reading the story “Animal Babies in Grasslands” . Comprehension Skill – Main Idea Letter Recognition: Pp ; Continuing to practice Aa-Zz High Frequency Words: we, my, like Color Words: purple, black, green Phonics: Initial and final /p/ sound; Review /m/, /t/, /a/, /s/ sounds, Syllables & Rhyming Words Math: Topic 5: Numbers Six to Ten(Counting, making, reading, and writing 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10; ordering numbers on a number line, making a graph) Handwriting: Pp, writing our names, HF words, letters, numbers 0-10. Letter Recognition: Aa through Zz (in books, on signs, flashcards, etc.) Practice reading words: the, to, a, have, is, black, purple. Find words in books, magazines, etc. with the initial and final /p/ sound– as well as /s/, /a/, /m/ and /t/ sound!!! Handwriting – Rainbow write student name/ trace, write HF words, words with Pp Math –Count things in the house 0-10. Practice writing numbers 0-10 Oct. 27th – Library Wear your favorite pair of pajamas! (Please wear shoes with your pajamas!) Oct. 28th – Gym Wear a crazy pair of socks! Oct. 29th - Music Wear Red! Oct. 30th – Art Wear your hair the scariest/craziest way! Oct. 31st – Music Wear your Halloween costume! Please make sure to check your child’s folder every night for important work/papers from our day in Kindergarten! Please send in box tops for our class to hand in! October 31st: Halloween Parade- we will leave Kindergarten doors at approx. 1:30 pm. Halloween Party 2:00-3:00
