  2. Let’s Measure It! Level: Emergent Reader Level II I will use this book when I am first introducing standard units of measurements because it talks about measuring objects in inches APA Reference: Connelly, L. (1995). Let's measure it!. Cypress, CA: Creative Teaching Press.

  3. Just Right! Level: N/A I will read this book at the end of the unit because it incorporates both things that my cooperating teacher and I are teaching so it is perfect to wrap everything up APA References: Kathe, M. (2005). Just right!. Orlando, Flordia: Harcourt.

  4. Me and the Measure of Things • Grade Level: Pre. (2001). Me and the measure of things. New York, NY: Dragonfly Books.

  5. Measurement Poem • 1st grade level • I would use this poem to introduce my lesson on standard units of measurement • The lesson consists of using an inch ruler so reading this would be a fun segue way into it! APA Reference: http://pinterest.com/pin/242701867390944699/

  6. Twelve Snails to One Lizard: A Tale of Mischief and Measurement • Reading Grade Level: 2.8 • I would use this book during my nonstandard units of measurement lesson • It features a beaver and a bullfrog that find different ways to measure 36 inches APA Reference: Hightower, S. (1997). Twelve snails to one lizard. New York, NY: Simon & Schuster.

  7. Inch by Inch • Book Grade Level: 1.7 • This is a great book to read during my standard units of measurement lesson • The book is about an inchworm that is proud of himself for being able to measure anything under the sun APA Reference: Lionni, L. (1995). Inch by inch. HarperCollins.

  8. Measuring Penny • Grade Level: 4.2 • This is the perfect book to read at the end of the entire unit because Lisa uses both nonstandard and standard units to find out height, width, length, weight, volume, temperature, and time • It wraps up all the lessons in one book! APA Reference: Leedy, L. (2000). Measuring penny. New York, NY: Square Fish.
