Arany János élete és munkássága Arany János 1817.március 2-án született,Nagyszalontán.Apja kevés földdel és kis házzal bíró földműves volt.A család súlyos tüdőbajra volt hajlamos, a 8 gyerek közül csupán kettő maradt életbe (János és Sára ). Érzékeny ,félénk ,visszahúzódó gyerek volt .Iskoláit 1823 és 1833 között végezte Nagyszalontán ,majd azt követően Debrecenben .
