  4. The internet: Web searches The internet is enormous. How can you find what you want? Search engines are web pages that allow you to search the rest of the internet. Beginner

  5. The internet: Web searches Two popular search engines are Google and Bing. Type the information you want to find into the ‘search bar’. Then press ‘return’ or click on the button at the end of the search bar. Beginner

  6. The internet: Web searches The search engine will bring up pages of search results for you. Each result is a web page that contains the words you searched for. Click on the links until you find a web page with what you’re looking for. Beginner

  7. The internet: Web searches Use the right search terms to find exactly what you want.  ‘Turkey’ will bring up every web page containing this word. ‘Beach holidays Turkey’ or ‘Turkey recipes Christmas’ are much better! Beginner

Use the ‘Bookmarks’ menu at the top of your web browser, or press the ‘CTRL’ and ‘D’ keys at the same time. Beginner
