Present Situation Vietnam Era Process: • No enterprise wide view of daily and future DoD shipping requirements • Limited collaborative visibility to coordinate movement outside of a single shipper’s domain • Each activity independently selects mode, level of service, degree of shipment consolidation, and transportation provider • Limited exploitation of “best practices” such as greater economy of scale, route designs, cross docking, pooling, etc Today’s distribution system is not be adequate to meet the needs of tomorrow’s warfighters 3 Feb 05, 1730L

Our Objective Better, More Effective Support to DoD CONUS Customers • Improving the reliability, predictability, and efficiency of DoD materiel moving with the CONUS • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to improve end-to-end performance and cost • Improving delivery reliability and offering better visibility over our support services to meet increasing demand • DoD performing core military processes, leveraging the private sector 3 Feb 05, 1730L
