  2. The Problem • EBay is a great way to buy and sell things, but once people start to sell themselves is it going too far?

  3. Help Me!!! • A woman and her children were getting abused by their father/husband. • She put up an ad on EBay selling her and her children. • The ad said "This relationship can be what you want it to be, It can be casual or friendlier which could lead into marriage if we see fit whatever would benefit my children and of course you and me." • After many angry emails the woman wrote "I am strictly looking for a decent, loving and kind man who can give us love and a nice home and take us away from all this turmoil, I am a wonderful person and mom, I know this seems unusual to post an ad like this but it is better than the bar scene." • The ad was taken down because they said it was against their policy.

  4. Other awkward ads • A girl offered to be somebody’s friend on eBay. • In march 2005 a boy sold himself as a prom date. The girl who bought him paid only $29.95. • In December 2004 a boy sold his grandfather’s ghost on eBay because he was afraid he would come back to haunt him.
