  2. Warm-up • When you see a document that is not formatted correctly, what conclusions/assumptions do you make about the author?

  4. Working w/ Tabs • Tabs allow you to align text to a specific location with in a document. • They are located along the ruler

  5. Indents • You already know that you can use the TAB button to indent your paragraphs. You can also use the indent markers on the ruler to adjust the in the of the entire text, the first line, or every line after the first.

  6. Clear Formatting • If you are unhappy with the formatting of a piece of text your can use the clear formatting feature to undo your changes and return them to the default. • Select the text • Click on the Clear Formatting button in the font group of the home tab.

  7. Bullets and numbering • Bullets and numbers allow your to quickly organize information within a document. • Within a bulleted list, you can hit the tab keys to add a list level. • The options arrow allows you to change the bullets/numbers used, change the starting number, and adjust the list level.

  8. Borders and Shading • Borders are lines you add above, below, to the side, or around text to draw attention or separate sections of text. • With formatting, you can adjust the color and thickness of border lines to create different effects. • Shading is a color or pattern you apply behind text.

  9. Clip Art • Microsoft (and almost all programs) come with a collection of graphics called clip art. All clip art is stored in the Clip Organizer. • Insert Tab – Clip Art button • You can adjust the position, fading, and text wrap of inserted pictures using the formatting tab that appears when you add a picture.

  10.
