  1. THE CHRISTMAS STORY Presented by: East London Anglican Ministries Sunday Church School

  2. Mary and Joseph travelled to Bethlehem, but there was no room for them at the inns. The best that could be found was a stable with the animals.

  3. In that stable that very night Mary gave birth to her baby and as the angel had predicted, it was a healthy boy. They gave him the name Jesus.

  4. A few hills away there were shepherds keeping watch over their flock. They were bored and trying hard to stay awake in the darkness.

  5. Even most of the sheep were asleep and the shepherds tried to quiet the rest.

  6. Suddenly the sheep and shepherds were startled awake as an angel appeared before them. The angel said “do not be afraid. I have good news for you and all people.”

  7. “This night the Saviour, the Son of God, has been born unto you – go to the stable in Bethlehem and there you will find the baby lying in a manger.”

  8. Then a multitude of angels appeared in the sky and they sang: “Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, goodwill toward men.”

  9. The shepherds went to the stable where they found the baby in a manger, as they had been told by the angel.

  10. And even one the angels had to sneak a peek at the newborn child!

  11. A star shone brightly in the night sky, leading three Wise Men from the east to the baby Jesus.

  12. The three Wise Men brought gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh for the baby.

  13. Mary and Joseph could barely imagine the miracle that began that night in a humble stable, or the glory that awaited their newborn child.

  15. God bless us… everyone!
