  4. Family Tradition Part 1 My Family tradition are we get are tree ready about 2 weeks before Christmas, my Mom, sister, and I decorate the tree because my dad is not in to the whole Christmas thing. We don’t use a real tree my mom has a fake tree that we use every year, and we decorate with family memories. • Back Forward Table of Contents

  5. My Family Tradition Part 2 My dad, my mom, sister, and I go to are aunt and uncle’s house (Or they come to are house) and we have a family dinner on Christmas Eve. Sometimes on Christmas we would drive down to Kamloops (where my Auntie lives), but when we go to my uncle’s house it can sometimes it gets pretty boring for my sister and I because all they do is talk all night. • Back Forward Table of Contents

  6. My Family Tradition part 3 So me and my sister have to ask them if we can open the presents about 20 times. We all was have a big family dinner than we hang out and talk then we open the present at about 8, 9 or 10 PM. We would usually sit in around the tree and we would give someone a present, tell them who it’s from then we would all watch them open it and take pictures. After that all the adults go back to the dinner table and they start talking again, so me and my sister would watch TV or just talk about what we got for Christmas but after an hour or 2 than my sister and I would go to bed. Then that night “Santa” would come, I found out about Santa when I asked my mom. I all was knew but I didn’t really what to believe it. • BackForward Table of Contents

  7. Christmas Around the world 1: Greece In Greece they do not usually put up Christmas trees. In most Greece homes there is a evergreen tree is decorated with tinsel and a star on the top, almost every home you will find a shallow wooden bowl with a piece of wire from that hangs a sprig of basil wrapped around a wooden cross. A small amount of water stays in the bowl to keep the basil alive and fresh. Once a day, a family member, mostly the mother dips the cross and basil into some holy water and uses it to sprinkle water in each room of the house, it is believed to keep away Killantzaroi. Killantzaroi is a species of goblin or sprites who appear only in the12- day period form Christmas to the Epiphany. At Christmas not a lot of presents are given, instead the give small presents to hospitals. Presents are exchanged on January 1st, it is called St. Basil Day. On Christmas Eve small boys go sing Christmas carols and give out dried figs, almonds, walnuts and lots sweets or sometimes small gifts. Back Forward Table of Contents

  8. Christmas Around the world 2: England In England the gift giver is Father Christmas; he wears a long red or green robe, and leaves presents in stockings on Christmas Eve. The gifts are opened the afternoon the next day. Father Christmas bring the presents the night before Christmas, the children would leave there stockings and pillowcase hanging on the end of there beds. In England Christmas dinner is in Midday on December 25, in the daylight. In England, the only thing they would ate before the day of the feast they ate Frumenty, it is a kind porridge made of corn, but over time the recipe has charged they have added now eggs, fruits, lumps of meat and dried plum were added. The tradition dinner was is roast turkey and vegetables and sauce. One England's customs is mummering. In the middle Ages, people called mummers would put on masks and acted out Christmas plays. These plays are still performed in towns and villages. In England the day after Christmas is called Boxing Day because boys used to go round and collect money in clay boxes. When the boxes were full, they would break them open. Back Forward Table of Contents

  13. To me Christmas Is…. • To me the most important things about Christmas are spending time with family and friends , being grateful for all that we have. But Christmas to me is spending time with my family I love spending time with them, even if I get bored sometimes. It’s so nice to know that you gave someone a present and seeing there face all lit up when they open up the present. It’s not about get present it is about giving and to be thankful. • Back Forward Table of Contents

  14. The Christmas the Elves got sick The night before Christmas Eve one elf named Sara got sick with the flu but she went to Santa’s workshop anyway, she got her friend Ben sick and he gave it to his friend Lisa. After that it got all of Santa’s Elves sick, Santa started to get worried about who would help him build the presents with him but Mrs. Claus told Santa that he still had one more Elf. The elf’s name was Holly she was a small girl with light brown hair and she wore a red and green dress. Santa was not so sure about Holly she is one of the younger elf and is not the best with tools but Santa didn’t have much of a choose. So Santa asked Holly to help him with the presents Holly was not so sure, she was scared she would mess something up it’s a lot of pressure for just a little elf. But she said “Yes” so they worked on the presents all night and they finally got all the presents finish be Christmas Eve night. By the time the sled was ready Santa asked Holly if she would go with him because she helped him so much that Christmas she agreed and they were off to go around the world to give presents to girls and boys. 16. Wish upon a star • Do you think wishing on a star really helps dreams come true? Sometimes I think wishing on star are kind of weird but sometimes I think it works • What can you do to make wishes come true? Well it depends on what the wish is if it is something that you can buy then you ask your family for money and do extra jobs around the house. • What do you wish for yourself for Christmas? I wish for a iPod touch or a camera or another dog. • What do you wish for others for Christmas? For the world? I wish that everyone would be with there family and have a big family dinner. • What dose it take from each of us to make others happy? To be giving and help them get food and stuff.  • Back Forward Table of Contents

  20. Giving & Receiving “It’s the thought that counts, not the size of the gift” It means that if someone spends a lot of time thinking of what they could get you for Christmas. And “not the size of the gift,” that means that it dose not matter how big it is, it is the thought that counts. • Back Forward Table of Contents
