Legislation Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) • Lifting equipment includes any equipment used at work for lifting or lowering loads, including attachments used for anchoring, fixing or supporting it. • Includes Cranes, Forklift Trucks, Lifts, Hoists ect. • Make sure that all lifting equipment is, Sufficiently Strong, Visibly Marked (SWL) ect.

Legislation Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 These regulations aim to impose duties to limit the risks involved in using electricity at work • Contact with live parts causing shock and burns – normal mains voltage, 230 volts AC, can kill • Faults which could cause fire • Fire or explosion where electricity could be the source of ignition in a potentially flammable or explosive atmosphere.
