What is Turnitin? • Turnitin is an on-line service that checks documents for originality. • It searches the Internet to compare uploaded documents (e.g. assignment submissions) with previously uploaded documents, web page content and published material. • Turnitin then produces an originality report which highlights any work that has been copied from other sources.

  3. How does the Turnitin Service work? Tutor logs into VLE and selects the course Student checks grade and feedback in VLE Tutor adds Turnitin assignment to VLE course Tutor views originality report Student logs into VLE and selects the course Tutor views and marks assignment. Adds feedback in VLE Student submits assignment ILT Development Unit
