  1. Design Report • Submit one report per sub-team • Follow the SE work-term report guidelines • http://www.softeng.uwaterloo.ca/Current • Plan to write a report that is 15-20 pageslong, including front matter and not including appendices.

  2. Draft Design Report • Title page • Draft Letter of Submittal • Draft Contributions (1/2 to 1 page) - Describe the LegoTracker robot project (i.e., the context of your subteam’s project), and your subteam’s contributions to this project. • Draft Table of Contents, List of Figures, List of Tables

  3. Draft Design Report • Draft Introduction (1 page): • Intended readership • Purpose of the report • Summary of tasks reported on • Organization of rest of report • Background material that the reader needs to • know to understand rest of report. • Outline of the body of the report • Description of one experiment, including table, OR • Description of at least two design decisions and • rationale

  4. Draft Design Report • Draft References- List at least one document, book, web-page that you referred to when working on the project.

  5. Final Design Report • Write a document that you would want to read: • Document only your subteam’s project; the report should be focussed. • Document only major design alternatives and decisions. • Document rationale for all major decision decisions. • Include final implementation (or reasons why there is no working implementation).

  6. Design Report Marking • We will be marking reports as carefully as wemark work-term reports. • Adhere strictly to the work-report structure and checklist. • Check your spelling and grammar. • Check that your writing is professional, clear, and focussed. • Check that you’ve documented all major design alternatives, decisions, and rationale.
