This agenda provides an overview and update on the Critical Thinking Subcommittee of the Educational Oversight Group. It focuses on process measures, assessment, and recommendations for improving students' critical thinking abilities.   4. Critical Thinking Subcommittee • Provide added scrutiny and emphasis on critical thinking assessments. • Review institutional data from critical thinking assessments and identify goals and objectives to improve student learning.

  5. Assessment Initiatives Student Success Professional Development Critical Thinking Resources

  6. Recommendations • It is recommended to promote the Gateway Website (www.SPCollege.edu/CriticalThinking) via the main SPC Webpage, department Webpages, and other publications (i.e., Blue & White).

  7. Recommendations • Concerning discipline-specific assessments for critical thinking, it is recommended that SPC work toward encouraging faculty to make known what critical thinking assessments and activities they are utilizing.

  8. Recommendations • After considering the various critical thinking assessments and comparing institutional benefit, it is recommended that ePortfolio resources be reallocated to administration of the Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE).
