  2. The Crime • In New York city and across the world there is racism • All races are discriminated against however Muslims have been the main target over the past decade • Many crimes have been committed out of this racial hatred against muslims

Continued • New York city is one of the most diversely populated city in the world, and tensions always seem to be building some were in the city • There has been more tension than ever after the worst terrorist attack took place in New York City on September 11, 2001 • Protests, hate speeches and many other racially discrimative activities have took

Continued • In the early morning of August 12, 2014 a mosque was set a blaze but it was no accident • Inside the burned mosque the body of Abdul Majid was discovered however he was to burned for a facial recognition so a DNA sample was took • David Vermirewas the detective assigned to the case and he must now solve and arson/murder

David Vermire • David Vermire is a homicide detective that has no personal interest in the case except for the fact that the mosque was burned so close to his apartment • He is an Afghan war but was also in operation Iraqi freedom, after leaving Iraq he was re-deployed to Afghanistan serving his fourth and final tour • He was honorably discharged after sustaining a bullet wound to the chest • After his recovery he became a cop in NYC eventually rising through the ranks to become a homicide detective • He now lives alone and has few friends but enjoys his work, he is a quite and shielded man, he rarely discusses his actions in the wars, he shares a story here or there when another fellow detective talks about they're experience

Evidence • When arriving on the scene, firefighters discovered that the fire was not accidental but was started by gasoline spilled out of a gas can that was bought just around the corner at a local hardware store • Graffiti was also discovered spray painted on the wall, it was a vulgar hate filled racist remark to Muslims, who ever wrote it knew they had killed Majid
