  1. Time How I use it and how I should be using it

  2. Time: the limited resource • Only 24 hours in a day • (we all wish there were more) • Attempt (miserably) to use time effectively • Often run out of time • Contributing factors • Procrastination • Sleep deprivation • Lack of organization • Illustrated in the arbitrarily designed (and over-exaggerated) graphs

  3. Procrastination

  4. Sleep deprivation

  5. Organizational Issues How do I catch up? What do I do? Why does it matter anyway? When will I use this? Who can help me now? Where do I start? I really need to work on organization. Will I ever finish anything?

  6. Trapped in a vicious cycle • Procrastination leads to sleep deprivation and disorganization • Sleep deprivation is a result of procrastination and leads to loss of sanity • Loss of sanity leads to disorganization • Disorganization and loss of sanity lead to apathy • Apathy leads to procrastination

  7. So what: The bigger picture • Cycles can be broken; this one included • First step: admit to the problem • I have issues with time management • Second step: act on the problem • Learn to prioritize • Do not stop until a job is finished • Do not get distracted

  8. Now what? • Exercise greater initiative when it comes to school work • Slow down and focus on the task at hand • Do not go off the deep end
