The ideal end-product • An easily accessible data base of the whole stock of legislation, which should be: • In an electronic format • Available in a form that is accurate enough to be accepted by the courts • Capable of being searched both for the law as it stands at the time of the search and the law in force at a point in time • Easily cross-referenced with case law • Capable of providing access to relevant forms such as application forms, draft licences, etc. C.H. Best regional experience (Egypt) • Business-focused review: >50k regulations (including 35% not published before) were classified into 200 economic and service topics • Consultation of stakeholders • Public e-Registry made available to the public (no fee), estimated related savings: LE 24m • Inconsistencies and overlaps eliminated by 31 ministerial decrees. 1,000 regulations repealed • Results: reduction of unnecessary admin burdens thru SCM (LE 9m) C.H.
