Joint Projects with TxDOT • Partnered with TxDOT San Antonio, Bexar County and the Advanced Transportation District to pursue Environmental Clearance for the Loop 1604 Super Street and the Loop 1604 at SH 151 Underpass Project • Public Involvement / Public Engagement for the IH 35 Planning and Environmental Linkages Study • US 281 Environmental Impact Statement / Loop 1604 Environmental Impact Statement
US 281 / Loop 1604 Interchange First Design /Build Contract for the Alamo RMA Contract Signed – April 2010 – Notice to Proceed Issued Construction Started – March 2, 2011 Design Builder: Williams Brothers Construction Company Phase 1 – All Four Connectors – must be open by February 7, 2013 First two connectors open – November 8, 2012 Total project complete (Phase 2-8) Late May, 2013
US 281 Environmental Impact Statement • Started in April 2009 • Two Proposed Build Alternatives incorporating non-toll, toll and managed lane options • Draft Environmental Impact Statement is under review by Federal Highway Administration • Tentative Public Hearing in January 2013 • Environmental Consultant: Jacobs Engineering
