Community and Practice Engagement:Progress Year 1 Establishment of an active Steering Committee and several working groups: Practice Engagement • to plan a full day workshop, May 9, on Dissemination and Translation of Clinical Research into Practice Regional Workshops Workgroup • to plan a series of regional workshops of community engagement Community-based and Academic Practice Partnership (CBAPP) Workgroup • to identify the best practices in current research partnerships, such as those of the NCI, NIDA, NIDCR, AHRQ

Workshops A series of workshops on best practices have been planned, or are being planning: Council of Academic Societies of the AAMC, March 8, 2008 GRAND (Research Deans, with NCRR), April 17, 2008 NECTAR (a full day session with CDC, AHRQ, APTR), May 9, 2008 Academy Health (with NCRR), June 9, 2008 An additional set of 5 regional workshops is being planned, with support from APTR/CDC: California, Oregon, Washington Georgia, Missouri, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin Connecticut, New York Progress Year 1
