  1. Why is it called Photosynthesis? Unlike animals, most plants do not need to find food, because they can make it for themselves.Plants use energy from sunlight to turn water and carbon dioxide into an energy-rich sugar called glucose. This process is called photosynthesis, which means ‘making things in light'

  2. Who invented photosynthesis? Jan Ingenhousz British physician and scientist who is best known for his discovery of his process of photosynthesis, by which green plants in sunlight absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen.

  3. How do plants use photosynthesis? Plants use leaves to make their food. Oxygen is created as a by-product. During photosynthesis, plant leaves take in carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Using the energy from sunlight, this is combined with water drawn up from the roots to make glucose.

  4. What is photosynthesis used for? Photosynthesis is the process by which plants use light energy to convert carbon dioxide and water into sugar Respiration occurs when glucose ( sugar produced during photosynthesis)combines with oxygen to produce useable cellular energy. This energy is used to fuel growth and all of the normal cellular functions.

  5. Where in a plant does photosynthesis Photosynthesis takes place inside a plant cells in small things called chloroplasts (mostly found in the mesophyll layer) contain a green substance called chlorophyll. Below are the other parts of the cell that work with the Chloroplast to make Photosynthesis Happen.

  6. When is photosynthesis used in a plant? Photosynthesis takes in the carbon dioxide produced by all breathing organisms and reintroduces oxygen into the atmosphere .Photosynthesis is the process used by plants algae and certain bacteria to harness energy from sunlight and turn it into chemical energy.

  7. Four Main Parts Of A Plant Leaves-Provide the plant with energy through the process photosynthesis. Roots-Absorb water and nutrients from the soil. Flower-Helps the plant to reproduce through pollination . Stem-Transports water and minerals with oxygen and Phloem
