There are many places to visit in Egypt. While the pyramids and pharaonic temples of Egypt awaken the explorer within each visitor, the beaches, both on the Mediterranean coast, and on the coast of the Red Sea, are today the biggest places to visit in Egypt. In this list, we suggest 5 most important places to visit in Egypt. Pyramids of Giza This is the most famous of all the places to visit in Egypt. Located on the outskirts of Cairo, the Giza pyramids are the symbol of Egypt. Alexandria Located on the Mediterranean coast, Alexandria is the second largest city in Egypt, and attractive of all the places to visit in Egypt. Founded in 331 a.c. by Alexander the Great, the city is situated at the crossroads between two worlds. However, due to constant wars, very little of the ancient city survived to this day. Even so, it is worth a visit to the various attractions, such as the Citadel of Qaitbay, the pillar of Pompey and the Roman amphitheater.
