  4. Stage 1 • Infancy: Birth to 18 months • Trust vs. Mistrust • Referred to as the Oral Sensory Stage

  5. Stage 2 • Early Childhood: 18 months to 3 years • Autonomy vs. Shame • Referred to as Self-control, courage, will

  6. Stage 3 • Initiative vs. Guilt • Ages 3-5 • Play Years • Family Relationships • The “Why” Years • Imagination and Imitation • Assert Power and Control
