Critique • Erickson and James Marcia(particularly regarding adolescence) • Marcia’s work did show evidence and relates adolescence and childhood. • If you resolve your childhood that will successfully resolve crisis of adolescence • Marcia also questioned about Erickson theory. • He also questioned that if the stages only occurred are within the age ranges Erickson suggests. • However Erickson theory occurs throughout a lifetime. • Age groups best describe when conflicts become most important.
