Outcome of the presentation by Dante and Janet en February 2010 at ECMWF • Géant NOCs : level 1 service desk 24/7 • Geant NOCs: level 2 and 3 technical support • Private network (dedicated capacity) for bandwidth higher than 1 Gbps • Service contracts would be with each NREN(National Research Network), which have their specific GTR and opening hours for level 1 support May 2010
Discussion after the workshop about Dante • Participants : Norway, Italy, Deutschland, Sweden, ECMWF and France • Considering the following points : • Dante don’t propose private network for bandwidth lower than 1 Gbps • Countries joining Dante must use their own NRN : • The GTR are not the same depending on each country (10 hours for Janet) • Level 1 help desk is generally not available during nights and week-ends • Dante doesn’t match our prerequisites May 2010
Other Internet provider • No meeting with other Internet provider • The Internet providers will not be the same in all countries • No common SLA for every country • Two different help desks if there is a problem between 2 countries • Any other Internet provider is not suitable for operationnal exchanges May 2010
