  1. RME Homework. S1.Islam. Symbols. • The symbol for Islam is a crescent moon and a star. • If you had to design a symbol that told us a lot about you – a coat of arms – what would it be like? • Design one!

  2. RME Homework. S1.Islam. Prophets. • Muhammad spoke out about the bad things he saw happening in Makkah. • If a prophet lived in our world today what sort of things might she/he speak out about? • Write a paragraph on 3 separate things.

  3. RME Homework. S1.Islam. The Qur’an • For Muslims the Qur’an is the word of Allah and the most precious of all books. • Create one page of a book of your own. • On the page write four precious and wise pieces of advice you would give to other about life.

  4. RME Homework. S1.Islam. Zakat • One of the pillars of Islam is giving to the poor. • Imagine you had won the lottery and 5m you are going to give to good causes. • Choose 3 good causes. • Why would you give to these causes or people?

Ramadan. • Throughout the month of Ramadan Muslims do not take food or water in daylight hours. • One reason for this is to get a feel for what it is like to be poor. • Imagine you are an Aid worker in a famine hit country. In diary entries spread over a month jot down notes on what you see and how you feel, if you think the experience will change you.

Hajj • Muslims should go to Makkah on pilgrimage at least once in a lifetime. • Imagine you are going on a very special journey. • Imagine you are going back in time with gifts. • You can go to any time or place in the past and take any 3 things from the present. • Where would you go and when and with what gifts – why?
