Vitamins Protein Carbohydrates Over the next few weeks you are going to be learning about. • The nutrients that we need for different stages of our lives. • The diseases that can affect our health if we have a poor diet. • Your homework task is a project based on your knowledge of nutrients, dietary targets and dietary diseases. Your Task • As part of the P7 transition to Larbert High School the FCT department are going to run a cooking club to introduce the P7`s to healthy eating and cooking skills. • You are going to provide the recipes. The club will run over 5 weeks and you need a different recipe each week, which will give the P7`s a wide range of foods and different sorts of nutrients

  4. Your Recipe Book • Produce a booklet with 5 different recipes • You can use the school website, other websites (supermarket websites are particularly good), recipe books in FCT classrooms, the school library and any other resource you have access to for good ideas.

  5. Things you must include! • 3 personal and 3 kitchen hygiene rules for the Primary 7s. • 5 recipes. • Identify the nutrients in your recipe and explain the functionsof each nutrient • Explain how your recipe helps prevent dietary diseases. • Identify the dietary targets your recipe helps to meet ** Use the example provided as a template for your recipes**
