  2. Food for thought • What do banana peels, apple cores, and empty milk cartons all have to do with each other? They can all be thrown away. That is not true for the human body. Your body is the only one you will have for the rest of your life. How are you going to keep it healthy? You will research your current eating patterns to help you figure out where you are at. You will also learn about the food pyramid and eventually design a menu based on current nutritional guidelines. This lesson will benefit you for the rest of your life. Are you ready to get started?

  3. Introduction • HerbieHealthnut, a child millionaire, is opening a new restaurant in your town. This restaurant will feature healthy recipes that children will enjoy. He has hired your team of workers for his new restaurant. He needs a chef to prepare healthy meals and assist in menu planning. The dietician approves meals according to the food guide pyramid and assists in menu planning. The safety inspector is in charge of being sure food safety steps are followed. The manager will handle the advertising of the restaurant and promote the sale of the specialty cookbook. The manager will also help the staff work together. • A challenge for your team will be to come up with a name for the restaurant. This name must be catchy and promote healthy eating for children. All products your team create must send this healthy eating message.
