  1. Year 11 Leadership Camp 2014. Resin Embedment – Personal Qualities Pod.

Purpose. • To create a time-capsule or ‘Pod’, which will contain a number of small items, each of which will symbolize one or more of the students qualities. • Once completed, the Pod will be displayed in Tutor Groups on the Totem Pole for the duration of your final year at All Saints. • Pods from the entire graduating class of 2015 will be placed on the Totem Pole in term 4 this year and will represent, through symbols, the collective qualities of your whole cohort.

  3. Symbols The symbols you use should be represented as items which best communicate your qualities. Symbols may be in the form of: • Photos • Drawings • Cut outs • Figurines • Fabric patterns • Written quotes, lyrics, poems • Earth items such as leaves, stones, twigs and shells (must be dried items). • Knick-knacks and trinkets' • Or anything else that you feel best symbolizes your qualities.

  4. Making the Pod. • There is limited space in which to hold the symbolic items so you will need to keep them small. • The resin used may affect ink or print. Such items will need to be ‘fixed’ with spray coatings available from the art department or on camp prior to the embedment. • You will need to place items in order of position as viewed from the underside of the mold. Some items will want to float some will sink. • You must wear eye protection, gloves and an apron when using the resin. • Air bubbles will need to be removed from the mold using the bamboo skewers provided.
