Christ centered 12 step recovery Fellowship in Recovery Reconciliation to God and His Family Education about chemicals and Addiction Edification through faith in Christ Dedicated service to others
Overcomers groups offer Hope to Those struggling with: • Alcoholism • Drug Addiction • Eating Disorders • Sex/Lust/Pornography Addiction • Workaholism • Compulsive Gambling • Codependency/Enabling
We Welcome • Anyone who has a desire to stay clean and sober • Anyone who has a desire to rise above the pain and turmoil engendered by the addiction of a loved one • Anyone wishing to break the bondage of compulsive behavior • Anyone who is not opposed to Our general method of recovery.
We Use • The 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous (with permission of AA) • The Bible is our “Basic Text” • Jesus Christ is our “higher power” • Shared experience, strength and hope • Loving support and genuine caring for one another
We Are • A Bridge between 12 step groups and the Church • Dedicated to reaching out to people with problems of addiction, compulsion or codependency within churches of all denominations • Carrying the message of deliverance through Christ to all who suffer as we once did.
We are not • A substitute for Bible study or worship service • A “therapy” group – we encourage professional counseling when needed • A Christian AA Meeting – we are a supplementary program to other 12 step programs and recommend continued attendance and participation in those groups
We offer a safe and confidential place to meet and share about our problems as well as our victories. We talk about what is working and what is not • Who attends and what is shared stays at the meeting-we guard the anonymity and confidences of other members zealously • There is no pressure to participate or share, but all are welcome to. Loving support and genuine caring are offered
