Work Accomplished 5 RPG-CREZ Meetings have been held (Aug. 31, Sept. 7, 14, 28, and Oct. 8) The following issues have been addressed: • Issues List • Generic assumptions for 345-kV transmission (modeling parameters and costs) • 765-kV transmission technology • HVDC transmission technology • Initial possibilities for CREZ collection lines ERCOT Regional Planning Group Meeting

  3. Issues List A list of issues has been developed and has been discussed at several RPG-CREZ meetings. This list is available at the RPG-CREZ web-page Now that the Interim Order has been issued, the Issues List will be reevaluated at the next RPG-CREZ meeting (10/19).   4. 345-kV Technology Generic Data ERCOT Regional Planning Group Meeting

  5. 765-kV and HVDC Technology Vendors and stakeholders provided technical discussions of these technologies. ETT Representatives presented a description of 765-kV transmission. ABB and GE representatives described classic HVDC technology, “HVDC-Light” technology, and Variable Frequency Transformers. ERCOT Regional Planning Group Meeting

  6. CREZ Connection Pathways Preliminary discussions have been conducted regarding possible pathways for connecting CREZ areas to existing ERCOT transmission infrastructure. Additional discussions will be held at future RPG-CREZ meetings. ERCOT Regional Planning Group Meeting

Project Timeline Gather Options for Connections in CREZ Areas Evaluate Options for System Connections Incorporate Results of A/S Study Modify Base Case for Higher Wind Scenarios Evaluate System Upgrade Options for Higher Wind Scenarios Establish Mailing List and Set Meeting Schedule ERCOT Review and Report Stability Analysis Review Results Gridlines Represent 2-Week Periods ERCOT Regional Planning Group Meeting
