This report summarizes OU students' feelings about parking, revealed through a survey examining various aspects like class timing, average parking duration, and the impact on attendance. Findings show that morning students generally find parking quickly, whereas early afternoon to night students often face challenges. Attendance is affected for many students due to parking issues, particularly in the afternoon and evening. Overall, there's a consensus that the parking system at OU is ineffective. The survey acknowledged potential biases in respondent selection and wording.

Our mission: Find out how OU students feel about parking.
Question 1: When is your first class of the day? • Morning (8-10 AM) • Early Afternoon (11 AM- 1PM) • Late afternoon (1PM- 4PM) • Night (5PM & Later)
Question 2: How long (on average) does it take you to find a parking spot? 0-5 Min (no trouble) 5- 10 Min (some trouble) 10-15 Min (some trouble) 15+ Min (challenging)
Our findings: In the morning, it takes students on average 0-5 minutes to park. Early morning and late afternoon on the other hand, find parking takes about 10-15 minutes on average.
Question 3: Does this ever affect your attendance in class? • Yes (Been late, Went home, ect…) • No (Never)
Our findings: Majority of the morning student did not see a correlation between attendance to class and parking. Early afternoon to night students all said their attendance was affected by parking.
Question 4: What do you find most challenging about parking at OU? • Finding a spot • Car/pedestrian traffic • No Challenge • Other
Our findings: Morning to late afternoon all found finding a parking spot most difficult. Majority of night students found no challenges when finding a parking spot.
Question 5: How do you feel during the parking process? • Frustrated/Angry/Annoyed • Relaxed/ Happy • Indifferent/Not affected
Our findings: Morning and night students found that parking had no effect on their emotion. Early afternoon and late afternoon found themselves negatively effected by this process. (Frustrated/angry/annoyed)
Question 6: Overall, do you think OU has an effective parking system? • Yes • No
Our findings: Every single student surveyed felt OU did not have an effective parking system.
Potential problems with our survey: • Often times students surveyed were not random. • Friends • People in our classes • Same time • Our wording could have been used slightly differently.
