  1. Rules and Procedures for Mrs. Harper’s Class

  2. New Rules • Seven for Seven • 1. When someone else is speaking, listen attentively. Do not talk. • 2. Be in your seat when the bell rings unless you are handling classroom business. • 3. Come to class prepared with the necessary materials. • 4. Once you enter a classroom during passing period, you must stay in the room.

  3. Rules cont. • 5. Do your own work and complete it on time. • 6. The teacher, not the bell, dismisses the class. • 7. No food, drink, or gum that becomes a distraction is allowed.

  4. Consequences for Breaking the Rules • When a rule is broken, your name will go on the danger zone. If another rule is broken, you will get a check. The check is a lunch time detention (LTD). The board is erased on Friday afternoon, but names put on the board on Friday stay up through the next week. • If you fail to turn in a LTD, you will then receive another LTD for two days. If that is not turned in, you will get a referral to Ms. Hatton and Ms. Jacobi.

  5. Other Consequences • Besides LTDs, consequences for breaking the rules also include tracking of rule breaking. Every time you break a rule, your name, date, what rule was broken, and what the consequence was will go into a spread sheet so that I may contact your parents about behavior issues.

  6. Late Assignments • Late assignments will be taken for partial credit. Homework will be taken for half credit if late. Bigger projects/writing assignments will be deducted a letter grade for every day they are late down to a 50%. • Missing assignments will result in safety net until the assignments are complete. • 3 Missing Assignments is a LTD.

  7. Procedures • 1. Everyday come into the classroom with all necessary materials. (Binder, Journal, Paper, Pencils, Textbook, AR Book, etc.) • 2. When you come into the classroom, you should immediately start on the journal, DLR, and/or any other bell ringer assignments. • 3. If you were absent the previous day, check in the outbox for your assignments as well as the webpage on the Highland Hills website.

  8. Procedures cont. • 4. Each nine weeks you are allowed 2 passes out of the classroom. These will be written down in the back of your planner. After the use of your two passes, any others will result in having your name on the board. • 5. If you have a question during class, raise your hand and quietly wait to be called on. • 6. When you finish an assignment, start reading from your AR book. • Any procedures that are not followed will result in having your name on the board.
