  6. How you can help at home... • Please have your child arrive on time (7:55) • Check homework and encourage students to correct errors. • Check/sign the homework each night. • Help your child to get a good night’s sleep. • Send a healthy snack. • Stay positive! • Communicate with me!

  7. Important Policies • If your student is absent, you have THREE DAYS to send in an excuse note, or the absence will be marked unexcused. • Students will not be allowed to charge over $7.00 in the cafeteria. If a student is going to exceed $7.00, they will be given an alternative meal.

Whole Group comprehension lessons • Skills practiced in Ram Reading Groups Teacher-Directed Reading RAM Reading Groups • Students are placed in groups according to Benchmark assessment (word decoding and comprehension). • Continuum of Literacy Learning • Focus is on comprehension. • Literacy Centers

  10. Words • Words Their Way • Students begin at their skill level based on beginning assessment. • Word Sorts based on sounds and spelling patterns. • High Frequency Words – study at home

  11. Lunch 11:00-11:30 • If you would like to join your child for lunch, please meet us in the cafeteria!
