This workshop focuses on the importance of peer revision in improving writing skills. Participants will engage in a structured peer revision process involving reading drafts aloud, giving constructive feedback, and refining their writing based on suggestions. Each writer will learn to appreciate the listener's role, ensuring clarity and richness in their drafts. We will also discuss best practices in writing assessment, emphasizing formative assessment methods that guide instruction and foster student learning. By the end of the session, participants will enhance their understanding of effective writing and assessment techniques.

Warm-up—Peer Revision • Writer’s Role • Step 1: Read aloud the completed draft to his/her partner. • Step 2: Listen to partner’s suggestions. • Peer’s Revision • Listener’s RoleStep 1: Listen and read along as the writer reads the paper. • Step 2: Tell what the paper is about and what you liked best • Step 3: Read the paper and makes notes on the paper • Is everything clear? • Can any details be added? • Step 4: Share your suggestions with the writer. • Remember focus on word choice and descriptive words.

Think a rich portrait. • Summative Assessment---Formal assessment on which students are expected to meet certain criteria or levels. Think EOG/EOC • We are focusing on Formative assessment.
