Key Figures in Environmentalism: Muir, Roosevelt, Leopold, and Carson

This presentation delves into the contributions of four pivotal figures in the history of environmentalism: John Muir, Teddy Roosevelt, Aldo Leopold, and Rachel Carson. Muir’s dedication to nature led to the founding of the Sierra Club and the establishment of the National Parks. Roosevelt expanded protected lands significantly while advocating for the preservation of natural resources. Leopold introduced the concept of land ethics, promoting individual responsibility for environmental health. Carson's groundbreaking work in "Silent Spring" raised awareness about pesticide dangers and highlighted the interconnectedness of ecosystems.
