STAFFORD COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS RECYCLING PROGRAM

The Stafford County Public Schools Recycling Program has evolved significantly since its inception in the 1990s. Initially a division-wide initiative, it faced challenges due to a change in refuse providers and a lack of focus. However, renewed efforts in 2007 re-established a commitment to recycling and sustainability. Key accomplishments include the recognition as a "Certified Green School Division" by the Virginia School Board Association, pilot programs, and community engagement strategies. Future efforts aim to expand recycling initiatives and enhance data collection.
