PARCA, Inc. Fiscal Year 2017 End of Year Summary
PARCA FY17 Achievements • Funded the move of Franklin, our first rhino (pictured here), who was moved in October ‘17 • Donated $22,213 to Rhinos Without Borders for translocating rhinos, $350 to Thula Thula Rhino Orphanage after an attack by poachers, and $5,000 to David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust for aerial antipoaching activities • Held inaugural Run for Rhinos at Philadelphia Zoo
Achievements (cont’d) • Hosted Vundi Kashamba, Great Plains Conservation Safari Guide on his first trip to the U.S. • Expanded ways for our supporters to donate (United Way designated charity, Facebook, Pay Pal Giving Fund, Amazon Smile) • Gained over 700 followers on Facebook • Attended our 1st legislative hearing in PA on banning ivory and rhino horn sales in PA • Selected as a T-shirt campaign in July ’17 on For Love of All Things (FLOAT) (our 1st national activity)
Fundraising Activities • We had a busy year hosting 12 activities that raised money for our mission to prevent extinction of the rhino: • Run for Rhinos, Paint Nite, New Deck Happy Hour, Yard Sale, Candle Sale, India Hicks Get Together Give Together, Wawa Coupon Sale, Giving Tuesday, Rodan & Fields (ongoing sales), Franklin’s Crash / Wildlife Film Viewings, PARCA / Great Plains Foundation Reception at Penn Medicine and Talk at Philadelphia Zoo For more information, please visit www.parcainc.org
