  7. Discuss your NGOs Aim and Main Focus (Mission Statement). The Red Cross is the world’s largest humanitarian organization, and they provide assistance without any discrimination to their nationalities, race, religious beliefs, class or political opinions. There are 36 members of the Red Cross around the world, and it first started in Geneva. • The Red Cross vision: To inspire, encourage, facilitate and promote at all times all forms of humanitarian activities by National Societies, with a view to preventing and alleviating human suffering, and thereby contributing to the maintenance and promotion of human dignity and peace in the world.

  8. Discuss your NGOs Aim and Main Focus (Mission Statement). They carry out relief operations to assist the victims of disasters and they combine this with development work to strengthen the capacities of its member National Societies, they work focusing on four main areas: • - Promoting humanitarian values. • - Disaster response. • - Disaster preparedness. • - Health and community care.

  9. Discuss your NGOs Aim and Main Focus (Mission Statement). Easy-bib annotation: • "British Red Cross." - Home Page. N.p., n.d. Web. 22 Jan. 2013.This website is about the Red Cross, the Red Cross helps many people around the world that experience natural disasters and problems around the world. This is a primary source because its possessive owned by the Red Cross itself. This webpage has some really good points, because it shows us the current news (problems) around the world, and they are a lot of links to click on, like how to prepare an emergency kit, and how to prepare for a natural disaster, and there's also an introduction to the Red Cross, and the members (participants) of the Red Cross and what they do, they also talk about when and why it was founded, and all the places the Red Cross is located, and it has also donation sites where you could donate some money for the people that are in need, and they have many fundraising events, and many projects to help people around the world, the Red Cross has also helped many people from different places around the world and i don't think that they're biased. Even though this is a great website, it also does have a few limitations, like for example, it does not have links for why it was founded, and how they earn money, and the purpose of the Red Cross. But I think that overall, this is a great webpage and a great example of an NGO, and I think that the Red Cross has had a huge impact on many people around the world because of their help and support.

  10. Outline the programs your NGO offers. The Red Cross has a lot of things to offer to the people that are in need around the world. They help with: • The victims of disasters. • Natural disasters response. • Help with first aid courses. • Health and social care. • Find missing family (when families are separated by war or a disaster, they try to put them back in touch). • Preparing families for disasters. • The Red Cross also offers Refugee services; they provide practical and emotional support to refugees around the world. Basically, the Red Cross has a lot to offer to people that are seeking help around the world, they help with many things they need.

  11. The victims of disasters • Help with first aid courses • Health and social care • Natural disasters response Find missing family • Preparing families for disasters. The Red Cross also offers Refugee services

  12. Explain how your from?) Explain how your organization gains funds (where do they get their money from?) • The Red Cross gains it’s funding from people around the world, they get their money from official donation sites for people to donate money to them, they also have Holiday Gift Catalogues that people could purchase items from, they also raise money through rewards programs, they also earn their money from opening consignment organization gains funds (where do they get their money stores, and door to door volunteers that ask for donations.

  13. Explain how your organization gains funds (where do they get their money from?) • The Red Cross gives you more information on the Red Cross, they also have telephone fundraising, with that they could have a more personal relationship with their donors, plus it’s a really effective way of fundraising, and the telephone form of fundraising earns an average £430,000 each year for the British Red Cross. They also have street fundraisers. The Red Cross also gets their funds from Corporate Sponsors, fees from hospitals and they also receive government grants.

  14. Critically analyze and evaluate the success of your NGO (do you believe this organization is successful in achieving its goals? Why/Why Not?) • I personally think that this NGO is really successful, I think that this organization is successful first of all because they have 36 Red Cross members around the world (that means that they have expanded the Red Cross because of its success), I think that the Red Cross is really successful because when they set a goal, they do achieve it, but its not easy to achieve the goal. The Red Cross’ goal (vision) is to help people all around the world with any problem they have, like first aid courses, emergency responses health and social care, and finding family’s, and many more.

  15. Critically analyze and evaluate the success of your NGO (do you believe this organization is successful in achieving its goals? Why/Why Not?) • since the Red Cross have set a goal that’s really hard to achieve, they need things to help them to achieve this goal, like raising money, and I think that they have done a brilliant job of raising the money to achieve their goal. The Red Cross have splendid ideas on how to raise money, like fundraising (there are many types of fundraising, like person to person, telephone fundraising, and street fundraising, and they have donation websites, they also have charity events and many other things like hospitals, and governments). And with the money they raise they hire people around the world to work as Red Cross members, and they buy the equipment for their help. As you can see the Red Cross is a really successful NGO because they support themselves and they plan a lot to achieve their goal, it doesn't come that easily, it takes a lot of hard work. And with all of their accomplishments around the world, you could say that the Red Cross is one of the most successful NGO’s.

  16. Critically analyze and evaluate the success of your NGO (do you believe this organization is successful in achieving its goals? Why/Why Not?) • Humanities Key Concept: Systems: Everything is connected • Significant Concept: The world is connected through cooperation. Another thing that makes this NGO successful is their link to Global Organization. The Red Cross are really successful because they have expanded the Red Cross branches around the world (36 branches) because they connect with people around the world and get them to help people that are seeking for help. They are good at cooperation because with all of the branches they have around the world, they cooperate with the people for them to donate money to the people that are in crisis around the world. They have many ways to cooperate with people around the world to donate money, they have online donation websites, telephone donations, face to face donations, and they have charity events. With all of these ways above, they are great at connecting with the world. They also have an official website so that they could give information to the donors to make sure that they make the right choice to donate money.

  17. Include two (2) varying (different) case studies to support your conclusion of the organizations success I have evaluated the Red Cross and I have found case studies to support my conclusion on the NGO’s success. • Case Study one – • Success: one of the reasons why the Red Cross is so successful is because of the goals they're trying to achieve, they're so successful because they have set goals for themselves that’s hard to achieve but they have achieved them, they're so successful because they help the people around the world with so many different things, they help the people that are victims of disasters, help people with disaster responses, and with first aid courses, they help people with social care, they help find missing families, they prepare families for natural disasters, they also offer refugee services. All these things that they're working on make them a successful NGO, because they're in need all around the world. An example which would support my case right now would be the Syrian case the Red Cross is working on right now, because they work all around the world with their current problems, and they too help all kinds of people (race, religion, beliefs, and others) don’t matter to them, their only focus is to help people.

  18. Include two (2) varying (different) case studies to support your conclusion of the organizations success • Case Study two – • Success: The other thing that has made the Red Cross so successful is their planning to achieve all of their goals; the Red Cross have come up with brilliant ideas to help raise money to achieve these goals. They have raised money from all around the world, and from their 36 Red Cross members around the world. Their ideas to raise money are really good, they get people to donate money to help the Red Cross support and help people around the world. They get people to donate by their official webpage, http://www.redcross.org.uk/.

  19. Include two (2) varying (different) case studies to support your conclusion of the organizations success • Case Study two – • they have also come up with person to person donations (when they come to your home and ask for a donation, and they explain more to you about the Red Cross), they also have telephone donations, which is the most successful way of donating, and they also have charitable events, that help raise money too. And with all of their donation success, they have achieved all of their goals. An example which would support my case would be the current problem in Syria, the violence that has brought death to Syria, they have asked people to donate money to the Syrians, the millions of people that have been displaced from their homes, and to raise money for the Syrians, they use all of the ideas they have come up with to raise the highest amount of money to help the Syrians.
