CFT Solutions, LLCUAA’s Second Start up - may 2013 Product: Remotely controlled, embedded self monitoring deicing system based on carbon fiber tapes. • Patent Pending #61/699,372. • Satisfies the need for environment-friendly, cost-effective, easy-to-install deicing technology. • Uses include: • High pedestrian traffic areas. • High usage road intersections; bridges. • Domestically in driveways. Advantages Advantages: • Easy to assemble, and install, 1/3 cost of installation of competitors, and ¼ cost of maintenance (compared to hydronicsystems). • Significantlyless expensive to operate than other systems ($0.02/ft2/day). • Environmental friendly - can be powered by renewable energy sources - solar-power. • Alaska tested. • In contrast, traditional methods are: • Corrosive to vehicles, reduce durability of pavement, pollute the environment, and are complicated and costly to install and maintain.
