Health Science Core Sequence 2ndCourse Grades: 10-12 2014: Principles of Health Science is required Grades: 9-12 Principles of Health Science Health Science Build the foundation knowledge and skills used in Medical and Health-care careers. Leadership, communication, legal responsibilities, employability requirements are some of the topics. Year long course – 1 credit Articulated Technical Credit Further development of basic knowledge and development of new skills to includes taking vitals signs, CPR and infection control practices, medical terminology development. Supportive Courses - 11 & 12 grade Anatomy and Physiology Medical Microbiology Study of the structure and Function of body systems. 1 year course - 1 credit The study of microorganisms to include identifying the type of microorganism; how it transfers between living organisms, and potential treatment & identification. Semester course .5 credit paired with Pathophysiology Forensic Science Forensic sciences play a vital role in the criminal justice system by providing investigators with scientifically based information through the analysis of physical evidence. Pathophysiology The study of the causes, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of diseases, conditions and syndromes that affect human body Semester course .5 credit Medical Terminology The study of the language used in medicine and health care careers.
