(Like the center of a spider’s web!) • Make sure all your online vehicles follow fundamental online principles. • Feed your home base & your target audience/viewers from the other online appropriate vehicles • YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Delicious, Digg

What is Social Networking “The webs we weave!” • Website points to each of your Social Media pages, ie to your specific Social Media Profiles or Fan Pages or Group Pages • Each individual Social Media pages point back to YOUR website.. • Some of the Social Media pages feed each other! • Put your links on everything!

What is Social Networking Planning 101 • BEFORE YOU BEGIN.. determine the Purpose of each of your online pages, ie your Website’s pages, Google listing (Google Local Business Center), and each of your Online Social Media Tools! • Create your KEYWORD list, make sure you use them in your text, tags, categories, titles… • Remember to link back to your website and to feed each other! • Remember the 4 second rule! • The online user has the attention span of a NAT, you have four seconds to catch their attentionand achieve your purpose!

Words of Wisdom (I hope) & Reference links… • www.Facebook.com • Originally used by students to update each other, now the 4th Largest “Country” in the world as it relates to population! • I suggest you create FAN/Business page for the public… have that Fan Button everywhere, encouraging people to become your Chamber’s FAN!.. This effort is for both member & public awareness & appealing to future members! Next, you could create Group for your members only, if you like, where you let them talk amongst themselves & faciliate your thought provoking leadership!! • You have to start by creating a Facebook Profile Page, known as a Friend’s Page. Next determine whether your purpose would be fulfilled by a Fan/Business’s Page, or Group Page, or just maybe if your Friend’s Profile page is enough! (see the examples at the end..) • Facebook Widgets can be added to help links online pages & you can “feed” your various Chamber Facebook Posts to your Chamber’s other Social Media sites. • www.Twitter.com • 140 characters only, sometimes called micro blogging, you can look at someone’s profile without having a Twitter account or “Following” them. • If you want a tool which allows you to send out an immediate 140 character messages, this is the tool. • Often used to update Websites via RRS Feeds, very popular in the younger crowd. • Can drive fundraising, buzz for an upcoming event, or buzz during an event, emergency updates, announcing results… • www.linkedIn.com • LinkedIN is to Professionals what Facebook is to Friends. • Excellent place to join Groups, (I found some very powerful marketing Groups.) • You start by creating your CEO Profile, and then create your LinkedIN Chamber Group from that, again is dependent on your Purpose, you can make it a closed Group, or an open Group. • The Advance Search on LinkedIn is very powerful, you can search of a human with a specific title, in a specific mile radius, of a postal code, and all the results are shown, with the degree of connection separation between you and who you already know who can introduce you! • There are many Blog programs on the market. www.blogger.com, www.typepad.com, www.wordpress.com • Think of them as online interactive magazines. • You can moderate the replies, so, only those your team approve go public onto your blog. I highly recommend that you moderate the comments to your Blog’s posts! • You can put Google Analytics on blogs to see which links are popular and which aren’t! • I suggest you follow some Blogs before you start your own Blog, listen to their style, and determine your own! • www.Youtube.com • CREATE A YOUTUBE PLAN FOR YOUR CHAMBER!!!! I THINK IT’S VERY IMPORTANT! • Video is such a powerful and under utilized tool, keep them short and meaningful.. Video events, speaking engagements, chamber member testimonials! Determine your style! • Create you own Chamber’s Channel on YouTube when you believe you are ready to post a video at least every two weeks! • Repurpose these videos to your website, facebook, Blog… • Getting Started.. • Determine your Purpose • What style are you comfortable with… is this going to be the CEO of your Chamber’s voice or the Chamber’s Voice? • Who on your team will help you spin your Online Social Web! • Which elements will you start with, give yourself some time to review what others are doing.. • GOOD LUCK!

  15. Best Practises Facebook Business Page (Also known as a Fan Page) Encouraging Public Fans.. They have 1,729 fans. Allows you to communicate with Fans in various ways! Facebook Communications and polls. YouTube Channel Upload Videos for free, repurposes Them to their other online medias. YouTube is the second largest Search Engine, so, many view their Channel. There are reports on YouTube Letting you now your channel search analysis!
