  2. introduction Founder-Henry Ford Founded on June 16th, 1903 Key people- Alan R. Mulally (CEO and president) employees-164,000 (2011) Revenue-US$136.26 billion Ford is the second-largest U.S.-based automaker and the fifth-largestin the world based on 2010 vehicle sales

  3. Brand history of ford • Ford follows family branding • Henry Ford's first attempt at a car company under his own name was the Henry Ford Company on November 3, 1901, which became the Cadillac Motor Company on August 22, 1902, after Ford left with the rights to his name. • Henry Ford started the company in 1902 with $28,000 in cash from twelve investors, among which were John and Horace Dodge, who would later found the Dodge Brothers Motor Vehicle Company.

  4. History of the logo • 1903-The script lettering was first used on company communications in 1903 but the first production car, the Model A, received special treatment. Ford produced the first logo for the car, complete with an art very fashionable at the time.

  5. 1907-The first Ford oval was first used in 1907 by British agents Perry, Thornton and Schreiber - the forerunners of the original Ford Motor Company Limited of Great Britain. This oval was used to advertise the Ford as the "hallmark for reliability and economy".

  6. 1912-For a brief time, Ford did move away from the oval design and used a winged triangle design on their cars. Originally designed to symbolize speed, lightness, grace and stability, the logo was produced in orange or dark blue and carried the words "The Universal Car”.

  7. 1927-The new Model A for 1927 was the first Ford vehicle to carry the Ford oval as a radiator badge. With the familiar deep royal blue background that we know today, the logo was used on many cars until the end of the 1950s.

  8. Since 1976, the blue and silver Ford oval has been used as an identification badge on all Ford vehicles to provide an easily recognizable and consistent branding for all the company's plants, facilities and products around the world.
