  3. SEASR Central Use Cases • register for an account • search for components / flows • browse components / flows / categories • upload component / flow • share component / flow with: everyone or group • unshare component / flow • create group / delete group • join group / leave group • create collection • generate location URL (permalink) for components, flows, collection (the location URL can be used inside the Workbench to gain access to that component or flows) • view latest activity in public space / my groups

  4. Community Hub: Connections Design

  5. Meandre 1.5 • Provide interoperability of ZigZag and MAU file formats for graphical flow construction environment (Workbench) • Sandbox encapsulation to enable isolation of flow execution (fragments) • Versioning of the runtime execution environment repository in the infrastructure • Extend Zig-Zag Console • Workshop driven feature additions and tools development, including Zotero modifications for collection-building and item analysis • Explore and implement repository-based services (.e., Fedora) as the storage environment for components, flows, and work-products, so that these things can be sustainably contributed, collected, and distributed. • Enhance web-service infrastructure using aliases, proxy-service, and redirection mechanics in order to simplify URLs for SEASR flows and enable one or more sibling flows to perform cooperative operations during runtime.

  6. Meandre 1.6 • Provide internal mechanisms that allow SEASR to integrate with external access, authorization, and authentication interfaces like Shibboleth, MyProxy, and others. • Enhance Eclipse plug-in to enable graphical user interface for constructing SEASR flows. • Enhance distributed execution management for the orchestration of cooperative clusters using MAU files. • Implementation of flow provenance and component citation through extended metadata gathered during flow creation. • Make components self-aware with respect to connectivity, so any two components can determine whether they can connect and what they can exchange. • Usability testing

  7. Meandre 1.7 • Extend security and authentication mechanisms for conditional use or access related to runtime conditions like when the access is requested, where that request comes from, and whether it's needed to keep track of use. • Implement infrastructure hooks for a selective subset of grid-resource managers (i.e. PBS, Condor, and Sungrid) to support HPC deployment of Meandre Server clusters. • SEASR to provide workbench support for DataNet.

  8. Meandre Workbench Futures • Copy and paste (between and within flows) • Add custom property editor for types (checkbox, lists, etc) • Ability to specify parallel computation like in ZigZag • Ability to use flows within flows (for grouping of functionality)

  9. Proposals in Progress • NEH – iPhone App for SEASR • Google Books / HATHI Trust • NCSA as a Computational • Digging into Data • Bamboo
