  1. How Do I Use the What-If Function inDegreeWorks?

  2. DegreeWorks DegreeWorks offers the users the option of producing a What-If degree audit. A student, exploring other options and other majors, may use the What-If audit report to determine how completed course work can fulfill the degree requirements of a different degree and major, minor, and concentration.

  3. DegreeWorks The What-If option is located under the Worksheet tab on your audit worksheet. Click there.

  4. DegreeWorks The What-If screen consists of a drop-down box which contains a list of available worksheet formats, The choices are the Student View or the Registration Checklist, just as for the audit worksheet.

  5. DegreeWorks The What-If screen consists of a drop-down box which contains a list of available worksheet formats, the Process What-If button, The Process What-If Button is used to run the degree audit for the What-If degree and major selected.

  6. DegreeWorks The What-If screen consists of a drop-down box which contains a list of available worksheet formats, the Process What-If button, and the Save as PDF button. The What-If audit can be saved as a PDF file.

  7. DegreeWorks To process What-If, select the level, degree, and catalog year of your desired program from the drop-down box options.

  8. DegreeWorks For example, you are an undergraduate student who is considering changing majors to a BS in Biology. Select Undergraduate – Semester from the Level drop-down box options.

  9. DegreeWorks For example, you are an undergraduate student who is considering changing majors to a BS in Biology. Select Bachelor of Science from the Degreedrop-down box options.

  10. DegreeWorks For example, you are an undergraduate student who is considering changing majors to a BS in Biology. Select the current year from the Academic Year drop-down box. Only the current year will be displayed, as all major changes will become effective as of the year of the change. NOTE: The Academic Year must be selected for the audit to run.

  11. DegreeWorks Next, choose the different areas of study: major, minor, and concentration. Not all areas have to be selected.

  12. DegreeWorks For example, you are an undergraduate student who is considering changing majors to a BS in Biology. Select the major of your choice. In this example, it is biology. Only the majors that are associated with a BS degree are listed. You can select a major without knowing the degree by clicking on Pick a Major. Then all majors will be listed.

  13. DegreeWorks Notice your selection appears in the Chosen Areas of Study box on the What-If screen.

  14. DegreeWorks Notice your selection appears in the Chosen Areas of Study box on the What-If screen. If the major you have indicated has a minor or concentration as a requirement, be sure to select your choice. Your selections will appear in Chosen Areas of Study along with your What-If major.

  15. DegreeWorks Future classes may be added and applied to the What-If audit.

  17. DegreeWorks Future classes may be added and applied to the What-If audit. The Find button will take you to the RAIN course search page.

  18. DegreeWorks After you have made selections for your What-If degree and major and future classes, click on the Process What-If button.

  19. DegreeWorks The What-If audit will apply your course work and the future courses selected to your chosen What-If scenario.

  20. DegreeWorks The Selected What-If Items drop-down box lists your choices for a new program.

  21. DegreeWorks The Look Ahead Courses Used drop-down box lists the future courses you selected for the What-If major.

  22. DegreeWorks Keep in mind that course substitutions are major-specific and will not be displayed in What-If scenarios.
