  2. To access, go to UNITED STATES UNIVERSITY web page 1. Select from the top bars Student Services and from your left options select Library 2. Select US University Online full text databases and 3. Scroll down for JSTOR databases (Language and Literature & Art and Science)

  5. 3. At the middle of the page you will find the General Education/Liberal Studies.

  6. At the bottom of the page Select JSTOR (Language and Literature & Arts and Science).

  7. JSTOR Language and Literature, Arts & Science Collections Established in 1997, JSTOR's first collection includes core journals in economics, history, political science, and sociology, as well as in other key fields in the humanities and social sciences. This collection also contains titles in ecology, mathematics, and statistics. Overall, there are 119 titles in twenty-one disciplines.

  8. From JSTOR main page, select the SEARCH button.

  9. For ID & Password, go to your US University e-mail or e-mail the Librarian to have them resent.

  10. Select Advanced search.

  11. Search for “writing essays.”

  12. From the quantity of the results, you may limit them to WRITING ESSAYS and FRESHMAN COLLEGE and UNITED STATES.

  13. 550 results are still too many; the results can be limited to HISPANIC.

  14. Your search boxes will look like this.

  15. Your results have been narrowed to 35. In the following slides you will open windows for title, item information, export citation and PDF.

  16. From the title we continue our search in the journal archive College Composition and Communication, and the publisher National Council of Teachers of English.

  17. By selecting the first author, you retrieved all the works Bruce Horner has done.

  18. By selecting “export this citation,” you retrieved the citation data which also gives you options for exporting data.
