First Half Term Expectations • To settle well into school life; lunch, assembly, routines • To develop a new degree of independence, learning to organise themselves; change for PE, lunch order etc… • To learn our behavioural expectations • To develop social relationships, make new friends • To introduce learning that will follow into KS1 such as phonics and guided reading • The importance of learning through activities

  5. Uniform NAME EVERYTHING! V-neck sweatshirts or cardigan with school logo white shirt and school tie  (preferable) or, white polo shirt grey trousers, (girls when cold,) shorts ,skirts, girls pinafores in summer grey socks /tights black sensible shoes (NOT ankle boots, fashion shoes, trainers, sandals or boots) Hair styles only – no hair to be worn covering the eyes , long hair must be tied back– this is for health and safety reasons and prevents the spread of head lice No jewellery, hair pieces, make up or nail varnish PE: Plain white t-shirts, with or without the school logo Navy blue shorts Warm long sleeved tracksuit top and trousers for outdoor use Black plimsolls or trainers (preferably with Velcro fastenings for infants Optional: football boots, shin pads, gloves and hats (not Oak Class) *Wellies (welly socks can be worn to and from school in wet or snowy weather but must be changed before entering the class WELLIES IN OAK CLASS CAN BE LEFT AT SCHOOL If children have their ears are pierced they may wear one pair of small stud earrings but these must be taken out for PE for health and safety reasons.

Oak Class – What I need to bring from home PE Kit – please leave in school until holidays WARM and WATERPROOF – coat On pegs in cloakroom – jumpers go there in the day too Scarf / hat /gloves / wellies / welly liners / sun hat (sun cream) We have drawers for these in class and wellies live in the lean-to Water bottle (only water!) Reading folder – Please do not leave bottles in folders but do put in… Reading log and reading book. Home/school HW pack All have “places” in class Please send letters to the office

  10. Home / school partnership Sharing learning and important events in your child’s life Home / School Activities book– This is for significant events / pieces of learning. It is not a “must” every week. Sometimes I will suggest activities . I will put in copies of pieces of learning that show particular aspects of learning personal to that child and their development – again not weekly! (Show) Weekly learning – Reading daily – this does not always mean school scheme book – need much wider reading to be happening. Scheme book should be regularly shared and should not be too challenging. Please note any other reading if you would like. PLEASE just date and initial as I use this to change books on MONDAY / WEDNESDAY / FRIDAY. Reading books will be given when I know they are ready – please do ask about your individual child. To support this – library– (send in daily) books can vary in level, this is a key time for sharing together.

  11. Phonics ; In home / school learning pack will be activity / flashcards phonemes or / and words put in after key phases of learning. • Learning packs – Show – • Flashcards. Words will be added as we move through phonics • Maths number line • Handwriting – new scheme, need to always start at entry “flick” – please do not be tempted to join. • Reading / phonics – starter notes, this area will be addressed in our phonics session • Newsletters – learning have been / plan to do /resources / events. Will be in book bags or mailed • Please mail or see me after school – use office / “Door staff” in the mornings, everyone on occasions needs to talk urgently – school office open 8.30. I won’t get mails sent after school until after school the next day – if urgent Mrs Aslett will see me but stop in or ring if I should know that morning. • Parents evenings (October / February) • End of year report – School and end of EYFS data. • School newsletters / website / PTA

Photo permission – paper SEN / Health / Vulnerable – please do come and see me PP – additional funding given to schools to support children … Home / School contract No nuts, sweets or fizzy drinks in lunches Tummy upsets clear 48hrs.
