CPA5 in WP 2001 - Call 6 - Key objectives • To further the acceptance of smart cards in all shapes and forms, support wide-scale deployment • To ensure improved mobile and secure access to information society services • To increase versatility of smart card systems to accommodate a larger scope of citizen and business requirements

CPA5 in WP 2001 - Call 6 - Participation • Smart card issuers • Secure service providers (both on- and off- line) • Smart card systems developers and integrators • Smart cards manufacturers • Selected public services involved in applications based on smart cards (e.g. regarding public ID, transport ticketing,health care,...)

  3. CPA5 in WP 2001 - Call 6 - Focus • The focus will be based on the priorities of the Smart Card Charter and the related “Common Requirements”, i.e.: • Interoperability of infrastructures (both across borders and between sectors) • Increased security & privacy / wider usage of smart card based authentication • large scale deployment and access for all / Cost reduction and economies of scale • Improved usability of smart card based systems and applications • Contribute to the availability of secure electronic infrastructures for public access to government services and for public procurement by governments More information at: http://europa.eu.int/ispo/istka2/smartcards.html
