Process • Survey conducted on SurveyMonkey.com • 2 months at $19.95 + $3.80 in response charges • Email addresses • 3183 email addresses of active members • 7 bad • 35 previously opted out • 68 bounced • Announcement email from Craig on 6/10 • Survey period: 6/10-7/10 • 3 Reminder Emails (6/18, 6/25, 7/6) • Response • 26 opted out • 1335 responded • 1269 full responses (answered all questions)

  4. Results: Field of Interest • Unweighted: In which Technical Areas do you have a significant interest? You may select multiple areas of interest. • Weighted: For each technical field which you selected as being an area of interest in Question 1, please provide a relative rating of your level of interest with 10 being high and 0 being no interest. The sum should equal 10 points. (sum=10 enforced post facto)

Results: Societies • 77% are not involved in voluteer activities • 235 provided some information related to volunteering • 17% involved in section or chapter activities • 59% belong to non-IEEE socieities • APS (275), SNM(87), SPIE(60), AAPM(55), ANS(40), AAAS(35), Sigma Xi (30), MRS (28), AIAA (26), IOP (21) • 17% do not want to receive email from NPSS • 15% do not want to receive email from technical committee
